Single Payer Action Confronts Congressman Dan Maffei

July 21, 2009

Congressman Dan Maffei (D-New York) was minding his own business — instead of the people’s business.

When earlier this month Single Payer Action asked him in Syracuse, New York why he didn’t support single payer legislation in the House — HR 676.

Peter LaVenia pointed out that Maffei wouldn’t be alone — more than 85 members of the House have signed on as co-sponsors.

But LaVenia was shouted down and led out of the room by police.
